BARBARA BOLDING COONEY
Ms. Cooney began her career working as a field reporter for WBMG-TV (CBS) in Birmingham, Al. She quickly went on to be the managing editor and the prime news anchor. After having her first child, she and Jones started their own business, and “Parenting Life,” the first internationally distributed television show from the southeast was born. They created 104 episodes and 106 news vignettes during the program’s history. Cooney wrote and hosted the program. Ms. Cooney has been married for 16 years and has four children ages 14, 12, 10 and 8. She is an active member of her church and the PTA and is on the board for the Alabama Ballet. She is also the chairperson for the 2009 Pointe Ball, the largest fundraiser for the state’s professional ballet company.
JENNIFER BRODER JONES
Ms. Jones moved to Alabama 18 years ago from New York where she worked for the American Film Institute and Comic Relief. In Alabama, she produced numerous commercials and a local talk show before launching her own production company. As co-producer and owner of “Parenting Life, Jones handled marketing and distribution of the show. Today she works primarily as a still photographer. She has been married for 18 years and has two children, ages 25 and 13. Jones volunteers her time and talents as a photographer to raise money for local schools. She especially enjoys volunteering her time and photography to members of the military, as she has enormous respect for those who serve our country.
